Tier 3 - Sleep
You may have arrived here if you’re a parent who…
Is navigating infant or toddler sleep and regulation challenges across more than one caregiver, provider, or care setting
Feels overwhelmed by conflicting sleep advice found online or across professionals
Is seeking science-backed, developmentally appropriate sleep support rooted in child development—not quick fixes or one-size-fits-all programs
Wants guidance from licensed, credentialed professionals who understand sleep as part of regulation, routines, and daily life
Notices that what happens in therapy doesn’t always carry over into bedtime, naps, and everyday routines
Wants everyone supporting their child to be aligned, consistent, and working toward the same goals
However you arrived here, we're so glad you’re here.
Let’s explore how OTier Pediatric Therapy can help you reach new tiers together.
Tier 3 Explained
Coordinated, collaborative-based sleep support designed to align the adults surrounding a child across home, therapy, childcare, and learning environments.
Tier 3 supports infant and toddler sleep, regulation, and daily routines through an occupational therapy lens that views sleep as an essential occupation of early childhood. Sleep is shaped by routines, sensory processing, regulation, and, most importantly, how adults support the child across environments.
Support in Tier 3 begins with parents and caregivers. From there, collaboration expands to other adults on the child’s team as needed. Rather than focusing on isolated techniques or one-size-fits-all sleep solutions, this tier emphasizes science-backed, developmentally appropriate approaches that make sense in real life.
Collaboration may include occupational therapy working alongside ABA teams, speech or feeding therapists, early intervention providers, preschool teams, nannies, doulas, and other consistent caregivers to promote consistency, carryover, and meaningful participation in sleep and daily routines.
Tier 3 focuses on how strategies are used across environments, not just what happens in a single session.
